The solution

You have entered [src]
7 - 4*(3*x - 1) = 5*(1 - 2*x)
$$7 - 4 \left(3 x - 1\right) = 5 \left(1 - 2 x\right)$$
Detail solution
Given the linear equation:
7-4*(3*x-1) = 5*(1-2*x)

Expand brackets in the left part
7-4*3*x+4*1 = 5*(1-2*x)

Expand brackets in the right part
7-4*3*x+4*1 = 5*1-5*2*x

Looking for similar summands in the left part:
11 - 12*x = 5*1-5*2*x

Move free summands (without x)
from left part to right part, we given:
$$- 12 x = - 10 x - 6$$
Move the summands with the unknown x
from the right part to the left part:
$$\left(-2\right) x = -6$$
Divide both parts of the equation by -2
x = -6 / (-2)

We get the answer: x = 3
